Our Focus
960 Hours
960 Hours is a 40 day challenge for better health. It is very difficult to break old habits especially when it comes to eating right and exercise. Let face it, we like our foods and we don't like to sweat. Once you get into this train of thinking, you get lost in it. At rush church, we want to help. Once we get into our new facility at 425 W Main, we will be offering health consulting by means of support groups and exercise events. We are right on the Metro Bike Path in Canfield for added exercise convenience. We will also be using a technique that uses gymnastic rings for muscle toning. If you have not tried this method get ready. This is effective for all ages and sizes. One Size Fits All - you might say. We believe in 40 day chalenges or goals. Bad habits can be broken in 40 days.
Check this out: An alarming new study published in the Journal of Food Composition and Analysis reveals that Americans are getting nearly one-third of their calories from junk foods: soft drinks, sweets, desserts, alcoholic beverages, and salty snacks. It explains why obesity is rampant, diabetes is an epidemic, and chronic disease is skyrocketing: we are a nation of people who are simultaneously overfed and malnourished. In other words, we're getting plenty of calories, but very little nutrition.
What does the Average American eat in a year?
50 pounds of cookies and cakes
100 pounds of refined sugar
55 pounds of fat and oil
300 containers of soda
200 sticks of chewing gum
20 gallons of ice cream
5 pounds of potato chips
18 pounds of candy
2 pounds of popcorn
unknown quantity of pretzels and a wide variety of snack foods.

Let's face it. We need help. Only 30% of America exercises and that may not be at a level to better health. We believe the major factor is not time but motivation. Competition and Support are keys to motivation. Rush church wants to hold competitive events and encourage support group participation. Partnership is key to accountability. We also believe that Jesus Christ is the source of strength in all things - Phillipians 4:13. All things are possible to those that believe - Mark 9:23.
We have a BLOG by Jim that may give you added help during your 40 Day Challenge.
